Bellingham Chamber of Commerce

Chris,
In your quiet and confident manner, you really did make a positive difference and we appreciate it very much.  Bud and I will definitely be taking more Chamber sponsored trips in the future.  The accommodations on the Ireland trip were excellent (by our standards, anyway), and we thought the sites visited gave a good sampling of what Ireland has to offer.  We wished we didn't have to spend so much time on the bus, but I don't see how that could be avoided given the timeframe and overall tour costs.   It was helpful and interesting when Paddy gave us background information--be it historical or current events--as we drove through the countryside.  Also liked the Irish music, which helped create atmosphere.

We enjoyed the food--especially the buffets, and thought the round tables facilitated getting to know others in the group better.  Also assigning and rotating seats on the bus.

Thank you for everything you did that made our trip so pleasant and successful.

It was our first experience in doing a tour.  The price was so good we couldn’t resist.  India was interesting, but it was Nepal that we really enjoyed and would love to return to.  One highlight (among many) was the opportunity to fly up close to Mt. Everett.  We went with the local Chamber of Commerce—they’ve carved out a niche in the international travel world, and do it really well.

Let me start by saying I was slightly skeptical departing for Ireland, having already been dubbed “the token young person” by my tour-mates. But, any preconceived notions were quickly squashed! Our group was a vast smattering of age, background, & traveling experience. The tour itself was perfection, made even more so by our graciously honest & bone-dry-humored guide Gerry (prounounced “Je-RRR-Y”). There was just enough free time sprinkled in to keep us from killing each other, & the planned itinerary was packed with priceless viewpoints & photo opp’s. The view from atop Blarney Castle is not one to be missed, as is the countryside from the arches of the Rock of Cashel, or the ruins of Clonmacnoise.  There really aren’t words to describe the beauty & history that was our playground for the entire week. The hotel choices were great, especially in Dublin – we were centrally located within walking distance of the Temple Bar area, Trinity College, & some amazing pubs & chipperys!  I can say with confidence that this trip has wet my appetite for Ireland, & I will be returning again, soon! I still can’t believe how reasonable the price was, especially when we started crunching numbers on the airfare, hotels, meals, tours, & breathtaking locations that were all included – an experience that will not be soon forgotten!
