See the monuments that have made Athens famous, such as the Temple of Zeus, the Royal Palace, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Olympic Stadium. You will have a guided tour of the Acropolis and visit the world famous Parthenon, a magnificent temple built by the Athenians around 3000 B.C. Board your cruise ship and sail into the blue waters of the Aegean Sea, easily settling into the cruising routine of sunbathing, sipping cool drinks, splashing in the pool and reveling in the delights prepared by the ship’s chefs. Later, dock at the mountainous island of Mykonos with its characteristic windmills and dazzling white houses.
On another day, you'll have two ports of call. First, Kusadasi on the Turkish coast. An optional excursion takes you to the fascinating Greek, Roman, and Byzantine excavations of Ephesus. Imagine life as an Ephesian as you are guided through the remarkable excavation site. Next, discover the tiny Greek island of Patmos where St. John the Divine wrote the Book of Revelations. The 11th-century monastery with its manuscript collection is well worth a visit. Day 7 is dedicated to the island of Rhodes. Rhodes’ sun-drenched public beaches and colorful shopping districts are within easy walking distance of the port, or you may explore the sights in the Old City with its ramparts and palaces built by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. Another port of call is Heraklion on Crete, considered the jewel of the Greek Isles. Afternoon call (weather permitting) at Santorini, the “Black Pearl of the Aegean,” considered the favorite stop on the cruise. Travel back in time today to where Gods and Goddesses, ancient kings and pioneer Christians roamed. Round trip includes transportation from the Lakeway Inn in Bellingham to SeaTac Airport.

Bangkok was founded in 1782 during the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Bangkok has served for over 200 years as the spiritual, cultural, commercial, and educational heart of Thailand. Visit and admire the royal splendor of the Grand Palace and Coronation Hall. Explore the world famous Damnern Saduak Floating Market on Bangkok’s timeless klongs (canals). You will also depart from Bangkok and fly to Chiang Mai, a city of great historical interest and noted for its handicraft villages and colorful ethnic hilltribes. The group will also visit historical Doi Suthep Temple and the Holy Pagoda containing a relic of Lord Buddha. After lunch, our tour continues on to the Thai Handicraft Village, Sankhempeng Silk & Cotton Handweaving Factories, and Borsang, a village famous for its umbrellas and primitive paper making.
Experience a close-up encounter with the elephants and see how they behave in their natural environment. Visit the 700 year old temple Wat Chiang Mun, the largest one in Chiang Mai. It contains a small Buddha rumored to have the power to bring rain. Continue on to Wat Pra Singh (AD 1345) and Wat Chedi Luang (AD 1411) where a special lecture has been arranged for us to learn about the role of Buddhism in Thailand’s social, cultural, and political life. Chiang Rai is famed for its scenic views and close proximity to the legendary “Golden Triangle.” After a visit to Chiang Saen, a small town and an old capital of the Lanna Kingdom with a milliion rice fields, we continue our tour to the world famous Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar (Burma) meet the Maekhong River.
