Member to Member Sales - "It just makes cents"
Parent testimonial - Feedback from a mother who has been using James' Place since it opened.
I can honestly say that it was a relief and very refreshing to have my children feel so welcomed and loved at a center such as James' Place. I believe that I share the apprehension that many parents feel in putting their children in an environment away from home, however, at this organization they truly care about the children, their needs and their emotional development. In the short time that my children have been attending, they have grown by leaps and bounds from the fundamentals of sharing and being apart of a team to their own self esteem and accomplishments. As far as a downtown location, this is ideal for myself and all of the working families out there that find challenges with communting and being further away from their kids than they would like. Being able to visit during breaks and lunches from my job has made the transition that much better and has enabled me to be more comfortable. It did not take my kids long to realize that this was a place for them. "School" is something they look forward to each and every day. The comment that my three year old made pretty much summed it up. They all have been so upset when I come to get them at the end of each day. They would rather stay there, play and learn with their friends (including the staff).
My wife and I received outstanding service in refinancing our home loan from Neighborhood Mortgage and, at closing, Whatcom Land Title. Both have been professional and courteous in explaining the process and keeping us informed. We're now looking forward to having another Chamber member and locally owned business, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Bellingham, do the actual work on our kitchen and bathrooms!

I had two good experiences with fellow Chamber members today. First, I picked up my truck from Louis Auto Glass where they replaced my windshield. We'd spoken at the last Business After Business and I decided it was finally time to get the work done. I dropped my rig off this morning and they called early afternoon to say it would be ready. Most businesses don't give advance notice that a job will be done and ready to pick up, so that was a nice extra touch. It's a given that the work itself would be professional.

Second, I uploaded a PDF to Print & Copy Factory last night to print and bind a nearly 200-page full-color book. It was ready early this afternoon and looks great.
I always use chamber members first when deciding where to take my business or need professional help. A good example why is Stephanie Artino with Metcalf Hodges. I was using another accountant for my business and was having trouble communicating with them and was not too happy with how my books were being handled.

I called Stephanie and she very willingly gave of her time and expertise in aiding me and my company to straighten out some complicated accounting problems I had been having. She is very knowledgeable and willing to help in any way, gave freely of her suggestions and advice, and was very patient with me as I tried to figure out what was the best route to take when making my decisions regarding my taxes and other financial complexities that I encountered. She also was very helpful with ideas to help the business grow and ways to save a buck or two here and there.

I would highly recommend Stephanie and Metcalf Hodges and I would not have known about them had it not been for the chamber.
At the end of May, my husband Pat and I noticed our lawn having some issues. We were getting ready to have a graduation party for our son in June.I called Steve and Whatcom Lawns and he came out immediately! He educated us about the lawn and what needed to be done to make it look great in time for the party. He and his crew came out the following day and aerated and fertilized our lawn. Now we are set up for it to be fertilized on a schedule to maintain the great look!I was so happy to use Whatcom Lawns and support the local chamber members!
Kiwanis Club of Bellingham just had a great experience negotiating with Giuseppi’s to hold our Installation Banquet at his new facility. Both are chamber members which makes working together special. He is providing a top notch menu for 40 to 50 people that will help make this year’s installation of new officers and an all around entertaining evening memorable for both the club members and the guests and dignitaries attending.
I was at the Lynden Home show (with tickets I won at a networking breakfast) and was looking for a house painter. I put my name in with several painters and four called back. I interviewed each of them and asked if they were Bellingham chamber members, Paint the Town was the only chamber member and that’s why I went with them. They did an amazing job and would totally recommend them. When doing business with anyone, I always ask if they are chamber members, in fact I carry around the "Join Us” packet everywhere I go!
My husband and I recently redid the floors in our home. We used Costco and it was GREAT! They had the best price in town and we were able to bring back the unused boxes for a full refund no problem.
Just after joining the Chamber I was looking for a bookkeeper that would actively work with me to structure my chart of accounts in order to accurately reflect assets and liabilities. After several meetings with companies that were non-members I had the pleasure to discuss my current and future needs with Lois Luke with Bookkeeping with Integrity. I’m a very pleased customer of hers and will continue to work through the Chamber for additional partnerships. David Mallory
I’ve had the same one for five years now and I wouldn’t know him if he walked in the room. Enter Snapper Shuler Kenner Insurance, Bob Hagedorn and Shane Vander Giessen. I switched my home and auto insurance and saved about $700 per year plus they both brought paperwork to me and both got haircuts at the shop. Great customer service and great savings!
My testimonial is for Johnson’s Towing—I wanted to let the membership know that being a member pays off! I attended the BAB of Johnson’s last summer, and was so impressed with their attention to how a client feels when they have to call for help. So, when I needed roadside assistance I remembered them. My insurance gave me the name of another company, and I asked them if I could use Johnson’s. They looked and said OK because Johnson’s was second on the list. I was extremely pleased with the service, and the driver knew so much about what might be wrong with my car—which turned out to be very helpful. As a single woman, I especially appreciate having a first-hand relationship with members from companies who can help me in stressful situations like problems with my vehicle. I don’t know much about car repair so I need to fully trust the companies I work with. Thanks to Johnson’s for delivering the top-notch service you promised!
